Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the continuous operation of equipment and machines. The mechanical engineer uses computerized systems to monitor routine maintenance and organize repairs. The maintenance engineer is also involved in control and monitoring devices and occasionally in the production of items that will help in maintenance.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and adjustment of the machines and equipment;
- Being readily available for prompt responses on production floor and resolve the issue as soon as possible;
- Providing training and guidance to production operators for proper use of and work on the machines;
- Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and provide preventive maintenance services;
- Working in close collaboration with the production team to formulate priorities;
- Schedule and undertake periodic maintenance on electrical equipment;
- Prevent disruption of production activities through ensuring that the equipment is in good working order;
- Recommend replacement for old electrical components to the management;
- Recommends different activities related to electrical maintenance that will bring continuous improvement;
- Tool Crib - Responsible for the maintenance & control of general/special workshop tools & inventory. Ensures proper storage & upkeep of equipment.
Required Qualifications:
- Appropriate technical education – Mechanical or Electrical Engineering;
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance of industrial machines, automation equipment or electronics;
- Knowledge of reading and understanding maintenance documentation;
- Knowledge of PLC programming will be an advantage;
- Basic knowledge of instruments (Uni Meters, Oscilloscope);
- Being proactive and responsible;
- Eager to learn new skills in other to increase knowledge of trends and up-to date best practices in the industry;
- Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills in English;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications;
- Personal skills and competences: Accurate, Flexible, Honest, independent, Organized,
Responsible, Time management (organization);
- Technical skills and competences: Lotus, MES, Knowledge transfer;
- Organizational skills and competences: Planning, Project management, Problem solving.
