Video Editor / German Fitness company (m/f)
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
We are a fitness brand. We must make sure we have cool fitness videos.
We create our own videos in our Skopje studio.
Your goal is to work with our photographer and marketing manager to achieve videos that are:
- Motivational to watch with a “Wow” effect
- Triggers the desire to start a fitness workout
- Aligned with the brand identity
As part of this overall goal, you will support the team in:
- Visual Effects Development: Create and integrate visual effects into video content. This can range from simple effects like removing unwanted items from shots to complex sequences involving CGI and composites.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize specialized software tools like Adobe After Effects or similar tool to manipulate effects. Proficiency in these tools is essential for executing high-quality visual work.
- Collaboration with Creative Teams: Work closely with directors, cinematographers, and other post-production staff to ensure the visual effects align with the overall vision of the project. This collaboration often involves discussions about the feasibility of certain effects and how they contribute to the story.
- Scene Compositing: Combine various elements such as live-action footage, rendered computer graphics, and other effects to create seamless scenes. This process might include layering effects to add depth and realism or integrating CGI characters into live-action footage.
- Rotoscoping: Isolate elements in a frame by drawing masks or mattes that allow for specific visual effects treatments, such as changing backgrounds or integrating animated characters.
- Simulation of Realistic Effects: Simulate natural elements and phenomena like fire, smoke, water, and explosions, often using particle systems and other simulation software. The goal is to make these effects as realistic and believable as possible.
- Color Correction and Grading: Adjust the colors and lighting of visual effects to match the live-action footage, ensuring consistency and continuity across all shots. While this is often the domain of a colorist, the video effects editor needs to understand how their work affects color grading.
- Rendering and Outputting: Manage the rendering processes to produce the final visual output. This involves setting up render queues, choosing appropriate codecs, and ensuring that the final product meets the technical specifications of the distribution medium.
- Quality Control and Revisions: Review and tweak effects based on feedback from directors, producers, and other team members. This iterative process ensures the final product meets or exceeds the expectations set forth at the project's inception.
- File Management and Workflow Optimization: Organize and manage digital assets and project files efficiently. A video effects editor needs to maintain a structured file system to allow for easy access and modifications throughout the post-production process.
REQUIREMENTS
- Creativity and Artistic Vision: Strong creative skills to craft visually compelling stories and an excellent sense of timing and pacing are crucial for a video editor.
- Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail is essential for editing, as this role requires precise cutting, timing adjustments, and a thorough review of audio and visual elements.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication skills are necessary to work collaboratively with directors, producers, and other members of the production team. Being able to understand and implement feedback is also key.
- Time Management: Video editors often work under tight deadlines. The ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks is critical.
- Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to quickly find creative solutions to editing challenges and technical problems is an invaluable skill in the fast-paced environment of video production.
- Adaptability and Learning: The field of video editing is constantly evolving with new technologies and software updates. A successful editor must be adaptable and committed to lifelong learning to stay current with industry trends.
In addition to these qualifications, practical experience, whether through internships, freelance projects, or previous job roles, is highly beneficial. Building a strong portfolio that showcases a range of skills and projects can also significantly enhance an editor's job prospects.

You will receive a Macedonian employment contract with full-paid benefits and social security.
At the end of the year, there will be a bonus based on the company's sales performance, which will be negotiated individually depending on your qualifications, motivation, and commitment.
